Lobbyist Jack Abramoff pleaded guilty to conspiracy, fraud and a host of other charges on Tuesday, January 3 in exchange for information on his congressional co-conspirators. As many as two dozen members of Congress are expected to be “outed” in the coming months, in a massive scandal involving the sale of political influence for campaign contributions. If the Justice Department continues to take the Abramoff scandal seriously, and obtains criminal convictions against crooked politicians, it can change the culture of corruption in Washington, DC.
