JUDICIAL WATCH REVEALED RENO CAMPAIGN FINANCE INACTION SIX MONTHS AGO

CONGRESSIONAL REPUBLICANS SLOW TO CATCH ON AND CAUGHT SLEEPING ON THE JOB

Today, Larry Klayman, Chairman of Judicial Watch, the group that exposed the campaign finance scandal and John Huang in its three-year old lawsuits’ against the Clinton Commerce Department issued the following statement:
"For six months, Judicial Watch has documented the lack of vigorous investigation by Janet Reno’s Justice Department. Deposition after deposition, by Judicial Watch of Clinton Administration officials show that they have not been questioned, much more called before a grand jury, by Reno’s so-called Public Integrity section, despite the fact that evidence has been shredded, hidden, and removed. Not surprisingly Congressional Republicans and many in the media – who ignored Judicial Watch’s warnings – learned last week that Reno had not investigated Vice-President Gore’s fundraising of hard-money nor had it taken steps to seize crucial evidence at the Buddhist temple before it was destroyed by nuns.

"The Washington establishment, which only woke up this week, finds it hard to believe that Judicial Watch, the people’s watchdog, could uncover more evidence than the intentional hapless Reno Justice Department and Congress. However they haven’t seen anything yet – as the scandal will not go away – no matter how hard both parties try to protect themselves by conducting ‘politicized’ and watered-down investigations."

Larry Klayman is providing in depth analysis for NET’s gavel to gavel coverage of the Senate Governmental Affairs Committee hearings on campaign finance.
