TAPES "DISCOVERY," RENO LETTER SHOWS WHITE HOUSE AND JUSTICE DEPARTMENT ENGAGED IN COVER-UP

Judicial Watch Cases Showed Obstruction Eight Months Ago; Few Questioned by Justice\FBI at Clinton Commerce Department; Evidence Shredded and Removed

The revelation over the weekend that the White House withheld videotapes of its coffee\fundraisers until after Attorney General Reno issued her letter exonerating the Administration of virtually all wrongdoing comes as no surprise to Judicial Watch, the group that found John Huang and uncovered the campaign finance scandal. In its cases the Clinton Administration documents have been consistently withheld until discovered at deposition, and wholesale shredding has occurred. The court has repeatedly sanctioned Reno’s Justice lawyers for misconduct (see "Who is Bruce Hegyi?" American Spectator, October 1997.) Stated Larry Klayman, Chairman of Judicial Watch, "Its time for everyone to wake up and see Justice Department and White House actions for what they are, an orchestrated cover-up." "Let’s get real," Klayman added.
