CLINTON ADMINISTRATION AND DNC FAILED TO DISCLOSE FUNDRAISING LETTER SELLING TRADE MISSIONS FOR CASH

COMMERCE OFFICIAL WAS ALARMED AS SOON AS SHE SAW IT

ANOTHER MAJOR HIDDEN DOCUMENT

In its case against the Clinton Commerce Department, Judicial Watch uncovered more proof that the Democratic National Committee (DNC) continues to hold back critical evidence from Senate investigators and the American public during a recent deposition of former Commerce Director of Public Affairs Jill Schuker. Schuker was alarmed when, while at a party in 1994, she saw a DNC fundraising letter listing "business missions" among "perks" available for donations to the DNC. Because of this, Schuker immediately informed Commerce Secretary Ron Brown. Brown, who falsely disclaimed the letter, disingenuously advised her to call the DNC. Schuker spoke with the then-DNC Communications Director and current talk show host Kiki Moore. Schuker was informed by Moore she would look into it. Schuker never heard anything back from the DNC.
This letter has never been released publicly. Furthermore, the letter has not been provided to Judicial Watch; nor presumably has it been handed over to the Senate or House Committees investigating the campaign finance scandal.

The letter Schuker saw was addressed to Miles Rubin, a Washington lawyer who was a generous and early supporter of President Clinton. (Ironically, Mr. Rubin was allegedly mentioned by Hillary Clinton as someone whose "list" she wanted put into the White House database.) The letter was probably a personalized version of the infamous flyer for "DNC Managing Trustees," also found in the files of Harold Ickes. That flyer listed the perks available for a "DNC Managing Trustee" – a person who contributes at least $100,000 a year to the DNC. The flyer’s list of perks seemingly corresponds with the Rubin letter viewed by Schuker.

Judicial Watch Chairman and General Counsel Larry Klayman stated: "The selling of seats on tax-payer funded Commerce trade missions for political donations is a clear violation of 18 U.S.C. Section 600. The DNC, the White House, and Janet Reno’s Justice Department all continue to cover-up the campaign finance scandal from Judicial Watch, Congressional investigators, and the public. It is time that Reno seek the appointment of an independent counsel to investigate this matter immediately, resign from her post, or be impeached."
