Impeachment is not enough -- justice demands Clinton's removal from office

Clinton White House Smear Tactics Shouldn’t Intimidate Senators From Pursuing Full Justice

Judicial Watch today called on the United States Senate to follow the House of Representatives’ lead on impeachment and conduct a comprehensive trial and remove Bill Clinton from office.

"The House did the right thing in impeaching Bill Clinton, the most corrupt president in this nation’s history," stated Larry Klayman Chairman and General Counsel. "We only wish that the House had done a more thorough accounting of Clinton corruption and included articles of impeachment on Filegate, Chinagate and other even more serious Clinton scandals.

Now the Senate must do its duty. The Senators should not be intimidated by President Clinton’s intimidatory tactics and threats. James Carville, Larry Flynt, Clinton’s private investigators, and their allies should not scare Senators from conducting a thorough trial on the House impeachment articles. In fact, the Senate should, among other things, hold Clinton accountable for his smear machine, which is subsumed by the obstruction of justice count (Article III) and almost certainly includes the use of government files to intimidate witnesses and otherwise obstruct justice."

Klayman encouraged those concerned about Clinton corruption to keep the pressure on. "Many Republicans and many in the political establishment would like nothing more than to kill a Senate trial," Klayman said. "If Republicans and the Washington political establishment think that the conservative movement’s and other’s demand for justice will be satisfied by impeachment only, then they are sadly mistaken."
