'The way we were' conflict for Barbara Streisand?

Reporter effort to derail Clinton impeachment could be designed to cover-up purported relationship with Clinton

Reports indicating that Barbra Streisand has viciously attacked Independent Counsel Kenneth Starr and will vigorously defend President Clinton against impeachment raise questions about just who she's protecting. She has called the impeachment proceedings an "attempted coup."

It is no secret in Washington that Ms. Streisand has been romantically linked to the President, and perhaps even banned from The White House. She should tell all about her relationship with Mr. Clinton so that the American public can fairly judge her credibility on the impeachment issue, particularly since she wants to mount an Internet campaign.

"Ms. Streisand could be a potential witness in several of the Clinton investigations," stated Judicial Watch Chairman Larry Klayman. "Her attacks on Ken Starr and other efforts to hold Clinton accountable in the Lewinsky and other scandals could be more out of self-interest than principle."

Ms. Streisand recently gave $10,000 to President Clinton's legal defense trust fund, a fund which, as Judicial Watch has pointed out in its Interim Impeachment Report, is in direct violation of federal anti-gratuity statutes.

Judicial Watch's Interim Report is available on the Web at http://www.JudicialWatch.org.
