Drudge reports Starr following in Judicial Watch footsteps
Again following the lead of Judicial Watch, independent counsel Kenneth Starr appears poised to call Defense Secretary Cohen as a witness, in his obstruction of justice probe of the illegal release of the information from Linda Tripp's Pentagon file. Judicial Watch uncovered that the release was illegally ordered by Pentagon political appointee and press secretary Kenneth Bacon. Bacon told Judicial Watch, under oath, that Cohen had provided false information to Fox News Sunday when Cohen tried to pin the blame on Clifford Bernath, a career employee, who since has been given a raise. Judicial Watch has pending various motions to force testimony concerning Cohen's involvement in this violation of the Privacy Act, which is similar to the violations that occurred in Filegate. Copies of the motions will be available later today on Judicial Watch's internet site.
