COURT ORDERS DEPOSITION OF JOHN HUANG

Scheduled for Tuesday, April 13, 1999

JUDICIAL WATCH ONLY ONE TO HAVE DEPOSED HUANG BEFORE, SPARKING CHINAGATE SCANDAL

The U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia has just ordered that the deposition of John Huang proceed on Tuesday, April 13, 1999.

Judicial Watch originally deposed John Huang in late October, 1996, sparking the growing scandal known as Chinagate. Judicial Watch has five cases to investigate the biggest of the Clinton scandals. At the time of the first deposition, Judicial Watch did not have Huang's diaries, which provide a roadmap of his activities. It now has them, under court order.

"Huang is the central figure in Chinagate, and we hope to learn much from him about his documented activities at the Clinton Commerce Department," stated Judicial Watch Chairman Larry Klayman and President Tom Fitton.

The deposition will be videotaped and transcribed. The Court’s Order of today will be on Judicial Watch’s internet site at www.judicialwatch.org (Requires Adobe Acrobat Reader)
