Election Returns Show Political And Media Establishment Can't Ignore Political Corruption

Unresolved Clinton-Gore Scandals Haunt Public Life

(Washington, D.C.) Judicial Watch, the non-partisan public interest law firm that investigates and prosecutes government corruption, said today that the election returns from New Hampshire show that the Clinton-Gore scandals remain an important issue for the American electorate.

"Our media and political establishment would like nothing more to pretend that Clinton-Gore corruption doesn't matter, but the New Hampshire results show it does. McCain and Bradley have made pointed, direct criticisms concerning Chinagate and other unresolved Clinton scandals. Bush has been vague in his critiques of Clinton era lawlessness – lawlessness in which, of course, Gore enthusiastically participated," stated Judicial Watch Chairman Larry Klayman.

Judicial Watch has filed a lawsuit against Al Gore, Bill Clinton, and others on behalf of the shareholders of Loral. This Chinagate lawsuit alleges, based on sworn testimony, that Gore participated in an illegal scheme to sell taxpayer-financed Commerce Department trade mission seats in exchange for campaign contributions. (Almost all the Chinagate figures participated in the infamous trade mission to communist China in 1994.)

"No matter which politicians or political candidates rise and fall, Judicial Watch will continue its anti-corruption efforts against those ‘public servants' of both political parties who accept bribes, disobey the law, and lie under oath. And we see the results from New Hampshire as an implicit endorsement of that mission," added Klayman.

Judicial Watch, Inc. is a non-partisan organization that neither endorses nor opposes candidates or legislation.
