"BOB AND RAY" INDEPENDENT COUNSEL'S FIXATION ON LEWINSKY IMPEACHES INTEGRITY OF INVESTIGATIONS

RAY LEAKS TO THE WASHINGTON POST THAT HE IS CONSIDERING POSSIBLE INDICTMENT OF CLINTON

(Washington, D.C.) Independent Counsel Robert Ray, a life-long Democrat, and someone who admittedly (see ABC's edition of This Week With Sam Donaldson and Cokie Roberts, March 26, 2000), did not thoroughly investigate the Filegate scandal, now says, almost comically -- after MUCH adverse publicity and mail -- that he might SOMEDAY indict Clinton for the lies and sex scandal, known as "The Lewinsky Affair." This "news" was leaked to the Democrat prosecutor's favorite newspaper, The Washington Post-- a publication which has run interference for the Clintons since day one of their administration. (Recently, The Post attacked Judge Lamberth for his excellent decision finding that the President had committed a crime in violating the privacy rights of Kathleen Willey.)

Ray's leak is likely timed and coordinated with Clinton-Gore Administration/Democrat interests to "keep the monkey" off Mr. and Mrs. Clinton's backs, by creating the appearance, during this election period, that some day they might be held accountable by the Independent Counsel. This serves Democrat interests, much like the "mild spanking" of the President by Judge Susan Webber-Wright in the Jones v. Clinton case. "When middle-America sits down and reflects that the President and Mrs. Clinton have not been held accountable for their crimes, they get upset. So long as there is the possibility that the ‘government' might take action, middle-America is less upset. This serves the electoral interests of the Democratic Party and Mrs. Clinton, but it does not serve the interests of justice to continue to play games with the interests of the American people," stated Judicial Watch Chairman and General Counsel Larry Klayman.

"The only real justice will occur in the courts -- not in the Office of the Independent Counsel -- which has proven to be worse than a comedy," stated Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton.
