The Judicial Watch Report Radio Show

Falwell: Clinton-Gore Administration Does Not Respect Rights of Privacy

(Washington, D.C.) On Saturday’s edition of the Judicial Watch Report, hosts Larry Klayman and Tom Fitton were joined by Judicial Watch client and Chancellor of Liberty University, Dr. Jerry Falwell, author Donna Rice Hughes and award-winning producer, Michael McNulty.

Dr. Falwell, who is represented by Judicial Watch in a lawsuit against the White House and the FBI for illegal use of files and a database on religious and pro-life leaders, says the Clintons are responsible for keeping Americans in the dark. "Every citizen since ‘74 has the right to know if the government is compiling any file or record on him or her and what it says. This is the first president since then to refuse to allow the citizens to know that. Larry just clobbered the Justice Department’s arguments in that area. I believe Mr. Clinton and his wife Hillary are the masterminds behind it." With regard to the upcoming presidential elections, Falwell stated, "I do have confidence that Governor Bush will select a good conservative, pro-life running mate. If he does not-- while I think it would be an unwise decision to choose a pro-choice candidate--I could not imagine myself pulling a lever for Al Gore."

Donna Rice Hughes, author of Kids Online: Protecting Your Children in Cyberspace, joined the Judicial Watch Report to discuss pornography pitfalls to children on the Internet. "One of the things that a parent might not realize is that a child not looking for pornography on the Internet, can accidently view it. There are many ways that this can happen. One is by typing innocent words like boys, dogs, cats, toys or dolls. The pornographers have used words like that to drive traffic to their sites."

Michael McNulty, whose investigative research earned him an Emmy Award for producing Waco: A New Revelation, says the Branch Davidian’s lawsuit against the government is not going to bring about justice . "I don’t want people to misunderstand and think that somehow that this venue is going to create circumstances whereby justice can be wrought," McNulty told the Judicial Watch Report. "It is about...winning the case and getting a sum of money extricated from the government’s coffers--the taxpayer’s coffers--into the hands of those people who were aggrieved." McNulty also paralleled Janet Reno’s actions in Waco with the Elian Gonzalez custody battle. "The response of Janet Reno, to both incidences, tends to flaunt the rule of law the concept of due process. It was the same way of dealing with things that Reno dealt with Waco and Reno dealt with Elian in the Little Havana area."
