The Judicial Watch Report Radio Show

E-Mail Scandal Deepens Johnny Chung for President?

(Washington, D.C.) On Saturday’s edition of The Judicial Watch Report hosts Larry Klayman and Tom Fitton were joined by radio talk show personalities, Mark Larson (San Diego), Geoff Metcalf (San Francisco/Sacramento), Jim Quinn (Pittsburgh) and Zoh Heronimus (Baltimore).

This past week, Judicial Watch continued four straight days of court evidentiary hearings into the White House E-mail scandal. Judicial Watch Chairman and General Counsel Larry Klayman says evidence is stacking up against the Clinton-Gore Administration. "We brought these witnesses into court. And one by one, we showed the judge that in fact, these threats [not to talk about the missing e-mails] had occurred. That individuals were told that their life would be worth nothing if they ever talked about it. And secondly, that false information had been provided to the court."

Zoh Heronimus, host of the Zoh Show in Baltimore, says the biggest story in Philadelphia this week was the heavy hand of the government against peaceful protestors at the Republican National Convention. "When you think of the kind of arrests that were made for non-violent protestors and the efforts by this current administration and members of both parties and the media to pretend that what took place is due process... that is an abysmal thing for us to have to contend with," said Heronimus. "What it says is...the government wants to federalize the right to exercise your first amendment obligations, then apply a racketeering statute which is a felony."

Geoff Metcalf, host of Talk Net Daily on WorldNetDaily.com and KSFO in San Francisco, noted concern with the 2000 Republican Party platform. "They crafted a part platform that was suited to George W. Bush [not the party]," said Metcalf. "I’ve got a real problem with any party that claims they stand for something and then they just abandon their principles contingent on whatever focus group tells them they have to do." Pittsburgh radio show host, Jim Quinn, says the Republicans played the media well during the convention by staying away from the issues. "You can’t get in there and get up and do a convention where you’re going to come out with the nuts and bolts of what it is that you’re going to do...because if you do, the media will tear you apart." Mark Larson, host of Larson Live on San Diego’s KCBQ, which also carries The Judicial Watch Report, says Republicans are communicating better with the voting public. "The Democrats and the left has done a whole lot better job on sticking to talking points for a long time," said Larson. "We’re dealing with an environment...of ‘short attention span theater.’ The GOP convention has proved that they could do more of that."

Remarking on the likely selection of Senator John Kerry as the Democratic vice-presidential running mate, Klayman wryly observed, "it was Johnny Chung who gave money to John Kerry illegally. The FEC is trying to fine Chung for giving money to him. But now John Kerry is going to get the vice-presidential nod. Does this mean Johnny will get to be President?"
