CLINTON-GORE WHITE HOUSE INVOKES EXECUTIVE PRIVILEGE IN E-MAIL SCANDAL

Mark Lindsay Instructed Not To Testify About Conversations Lindsay Had With President Over E-Mail Coverup

E-Mail Hearings to Continue at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 23, 2000

Date:Wednesday, August 23
Time:10:00 a.m.
Place:Courtroom 21, Federal CourthouseThird & Constitution Ave., NW
Judge:The Honorable Royce C. Lamberth
Lawsuit: Alexander, et al. vs. FBI, et al.(Filegate)

(Washington, D.C.) In dramatic testimony provided late Tuesday in the evidentiary hearings being held before the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia in Judicial Watch's $90-million Filegate class-action lawsuit, Mark Lindsay, former Clinton-Gore White House Office of Administration General Counsel and Chief of Staff, and now Assistant to the President, was instructed by his Clinton-Gore Justice Department lawyer not to testify whether he had discussed the alleged e-mail coverup with President Clinton when Clinton-Gore Justice Department lawyers invoked executive privilege. For the moment, the Honorable Royce C. Lamberth sustained the privilege pending further briefing before the Court. Mr. Mark Lindsay is accused by Northrop Grumman employees - the individuals who worked on e-mail computer accounts at the Clinton-Gore White House - of having threatened them with "jail" and told them to "take no notes" about the coverup.

A press conference will be held on the Courthouse steps following each day's hearing.
