COURT ORDERS TESTIMONY OF JOHN D. PODESTA, WHITE HOUSE CHIEF OF STAFF, IN E-MAIL HEARINGS

Motion for Reconsideration Denied Last Friday by Judge Royce C. Lamberth

Testimony Expected as Early as Tuesday or Wednesday of This Week

(Washington, DC) In the unfolding e-mail scandal, the Clinton Gore Justice Department’s and White House’s attempt to have the Court reconsider ordering the testimony of Chief of Staff John Podesta failed late Friday, September 21, 2000. The Court again ordered John Podesta to testify either this week or next.

“Podesta was consulted about the “discovery” that hundreds of hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of e-mails were not produced in the Filegate and other Clinton-Gore scandals, yet apparently he did nothing to rectify the problem. As reported by many in the media, including loyalists of the Clinton-Gore Administration, Podesta was the scandal-control person in the White House and took a special interest in high technology matters. His testimony will be most ‘enlightening,’” stated Judicial Watch Chairman and General Counsel Larry Klayman.
