DAN BURTON CREDITS JUDICIAL WATCH CIVIL SUIT FOR E-MAIL SCANDAL BREAKTHROUGH

Recent E-Mail Releases Show Al Gore’s Involvement in Buddhist Temple/Chinagate Illegal Fundraising

Court Orders Testimony of Earl Silbert, Former U.S. Attorney and Counsel for Northrop Grumman E-Mail Contractor

(Washington, DC) Yesterday evening on FOX News’ “The Edge With Paula Zahn,” Chairman Dan Burton of the House Government Reform Committee appeared and complimented the actions of the Honorable Royce C. Lamberth in Judicial Watch’s $90-million Filegate class-action lawsuit. It was this lawsuit which sparked the growing e-mail scandal, where Judge Lamberth who is playing the instrumental role in forcing the White House to copy and retrieve previously suppressed e-mail. Recently, newly disclosed e-mail shows that Vice President Al Gore was aware that the Buddhist Temple event in Hacienda Heights, California was a fundraiser, as well as confirms other illegal fundraising activities.

The newly-discovered e-mail, while it relates to Chinagate, is just part of millions of other previously undisclosed e-mail concerning the scores of Clinton-Gore scandals over the last eight years. This e-mail is currently being reconstructed and once disclosed will tell the true story about the criminality in this administration. Judicial Watch received the first e-mail from Project X one month ago.

In another development, Judge Lamberth has ordered the testimony of former U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia, Earl Silbert, since it appears that he consulted with the White House Counsel’s Office on behalf of his client, Northrop Grumman, whose contract employees were threatened with prison if they discussed the e-mail coverup. His testimony will likely show that the White House Counsel was aware of the threats.

“Like another former U.S. Attorney, Charles Ruff, who also served as White House Counsel during the e-mail caper, Mr. Silbert has claimed a loss of memory. Mr. Silbert, who is an officer of the court, will hopefully regain his memory by the time he appears before Judge Lamberth. If two former U.S. Attorneys cannot remember anything, then perhaps justice is truly deaf, dumb, and blind,” stated Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton.
