Majority Party Apparently Looks To "Appeasement"


(Washington, D.C., December 17, 2000) Today, appearing on NBC's 'Meet The Press,' Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott stated that neither he nor his Republican Party will make an issue of Hillary Rodham Clinton's $8 million extortive book deal, or the expected pardons of Bill Clinton, Webster Hubbell, Susan McDougal and others. It is likely that Senator Lott's statements were pre-cleared with President-Elect Bush.

'Regrettably, it is now obvious that the Republican Party's continuing concept of justice is tied to 'bi-partisan appeasement,' not the rule of law,' stated Judicial Watch Chairman Larry Klayman. 'Judicial Watch has a different view and approach,' added Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. 'We will not rest until justice is done,' stated Klayman.
