WEN HO LEE TO BE DEPOSED BY JUDICIAL WATCH

(Washington, DC) Judicial Watch, the public interest law firm that investigates and prosecutes government corruption and abuse, will depose Wen Ho Lee today, the individual who breached U.S. national security at the Los Alamos nuclear laboratories in early May in New Mexico. The testimony arises in the context of a lawsuit brought by Judicial Watch’s client, Notra Trulock, the former Energy Department Director of Intelligence, who blew the whistle on the massive breach of national security at Los Alamos.

In order to deflect blame for his actions, Wen Ho Lee, along with others, accused Notra Trulock of recommending his prosecution because he is Chinese-American. Despite the fact that Wen Ho Lee cannot state why and where he took and deposited national security information to this day, he continues to maintain that he was persecuted based on his race.

The Bellows Report, which was released in August by former federal prosecutor Randy Bellows, exonerated Notra Trulock, stating that racial bias was not a factor in the decision to investigate Dr. Wen Ho Lee.

“Mr. Trulock is not a racist and in fact recommended that several people, including Caucasians, be investigated for the massive breach of national security at Los Alamos and elsewhere. Accordingly, he has filed a defamation suit against Wen Ho Lee and the others who smeared him, and damaged his reputation severely,”stated Judicial Watch Chairman and General Counsel Larry Klayman.“Today, Judicial Watch will question Mr. Lee on his false accusations and pursue justice against those who sought to use the “race card” to mask his own guilt,” added Tom Fitton, Judicial Watch President.
