Broadcast veterans Jane Chastain and Russ Verney will team-up to host a daily show on the USA Radio Network for the public interest law firm Judicial Watch. The Judicial Watch Report, begins October 29 from 12:00 – 2:00 pm. The show will compete against the likes of Rush Limbaugh. What separates our show from Rush’s, and other political commentators, who we admire, is that Judicial Watch is a newsmaker, not just an analyst. Chastain, the nation’s first woman television sportscaster on both the local and national levels, turned her attention to government issues over a decade ago and has been an outspoken commentator on the moral and social issues of our time in the print and broadcast media. A columnist for WorldNetDaily.com, Jane hosted her own nationally syndicated program, What Washington Doesn’t Want You To Know, for ten years. She is the author of I’d Speak Out On The Issues If I Only Knew What To Say. Verney, a decorated Vietnam veteran, spent 11 years as an air traffic controller, before entering politics. A former New Hampshire Democratic Party official, he became disenchanted and, in 1992, joined Ross Perot’s independent campaign for president. He played a pivotal role in the creation of the Reform Party and served as its Founding Chairman. From 1998 until 2000 Verney co-hosted a program with Pat Choate on the Talk America Radio Network. He is a political analyst for KTVT, the CBS affiliate in Dallas, Texas. He also serves as the Southwest Regional Director for Judicial Watch. Chastain and Verney have been regular fixtures on the Saturday Judicial Watch Report on Radio America. The weekend edition of the show, hosted by Judicial Watch Chairman Larry Klayman and Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton, has been a lively forum for discussion on the issues of the day as well as a platform to present and highlight Judicial Watch’s legal cases. Klayman and Fitton will be daily contributors to the new daily show. Klayman said, “We look at this daily radio talk show as a natural extension of our current line-up of Judicial Watch produced programs.” In addition to radio, Klayman and Fitton host a one-hour television show every Tuesday and Thursday at 7:00 p.m. Eastern on the Renaissance Network. “We learned some time ago that if you want to give the public the unvarnished, unfiltered access to the truth, don’t sit around and depend on someone else, do it yourself. Although, we appreciate the many radio and TV shows and columnists that work with us to get out the information on our ground-breaking cases, our news was not always out there in as timely a manner as we would have wished. Judicial Watch makes news, we don’t just report it! Also, it is unreasonable to expect that everyone in the media will understand the importance of some of our cases or have the tenacity it takes to follow them on a day-by-day basis. Obviously, this radio program is designed to do that. That is the primary focus but not the only focus.” Asked about the selection of Chastain and Verney for the daily show, Klayman responded, “It was an easy choice. Both are broadcast veterans and are ideologically compatible with the overall goals of Judicial Watch. Russ joined our organization in April. He is unquestionably honest and a great thinker. Jane was one of the finest talk show hosts in the country and always has believed in our ideas.
