Judicial Watch Will Work Closely With Him (Washington, DC) Judicial Watch, Inc., the public interest law firm that investigates and prosecutes government abuse and corruption, congratulates new Attorney General John Ashcroft over his confirmation vote today. Attorney General Ashcroft, a strong defender of religious rights and American liberties, is a credit not only to his legal profession, but to the country as a whole. In the last few months, he was branded by the “Left” with unconscionable names and characterizations. Like Judicial Watch and its supporters, he remained unbent and undeterred. Attorney General Ashcroft can do a lot of good at the Bush-Cheney Justice Department in the areas of fighting street and white collar crime, rationally enforcing the civil rights laws, and reducing excessive government regulation. “Now that Attorney General Ashcroft has been confirmed, Judicial Watch will work closely with him.
