SEVERAL NEW DEMOCRAT SENATE LEADERS HAVE SORDID PASTS

Daschle, Kennedy, Levin, Kerry, Biden And Others Have Subverted And Broken Laws And Ethics Norms

(Washington, DC) Judicial Watch, the non-partisan public interest law firm that investigates and prosecutes government abuse and corruption, “watched” with interest as leadership in the U.S. Senate changed hands. What is particularly noteworthy and subject to concern is that several Senate Committee Chairmanships are now going to be held by individuals with poor ethical and legal records.

For instance, new Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle took illegal campaign contributions from John Huang. The Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee will be chaired by Senator Edward M. Kennedy, who also took illegal campaign contributions from John Huang and his accomplices. He is responsible for the death of Mary Jo Kopechne, a likely crime that he covered up. Senator Chris Dodd, who will chair the Rules and Administration Committee, was Chairman to the Democratic National Committee and was one of the masterminds of the Chinagate scandal. Senator Carl Levin, who will chair the Armed Services Committee, also is implicated in the Chinagate scandal, he too having taken illegal money from John Huang. Senator John Kerry, who will chair the Small Business Committee, took illegal campaign contributions from Judicial Watch client and Chinagate figure Johnny Chung. (Chung has made amends by telling the truth about the scandal.) Senator Joseph Biden, who will chair the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, admitted committing plagiarism during his Senate career. And, Senator Patrick Leahy, who will chair the Judiciary Committee, is not known for his honesty.

“The ethical and legal standards of the incoming class of Democrat Senate leaders and chairmen are exceedingly low. They will have to be ‘watched’ closely by Judicial Watch to ensure that the will of the American people and the rule of law is not subverted and harmed,” stated Judicial Watch Chairman and General Counsel, Larry Klayman.
