JUDICIAL WATCH FILES COMPLAINT AGAINST SENATOR HILLARY RODHAM CLINTON WITH SENATE ETHICS COMMITTEE

Inquiry Sought Into Wholesale Gift Grab and Influence Peddling

(Washington DC) Judicial Watch, the public interest law firm that investigates and prosecutes government corruption, said today that it is filing a complaint with the Senate Select Committee on Ethics over the conduct of the junior senator from New York, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton. Recent press reports have detailed the unprecedented haul the Clintons have removed from The White House at the end of their eight year reign. The Clintons released financial disclosure statements in the closing hours of their White House residency that detail over $190,000 dollars in gifts, china and furniture that Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton will benefit from and enjoy for her personal use.

Judicial Watch looks to the Senate Ethics Committee to investigate Senator Clintons conduct and arrive at an appropriate remedy for the junior senators conduct. Senate rules, standards of conduct and federal law all have strict provisions concerning the illegal or improper solicitation and acceptance of gifts.

Senator Clintons acceptance of these gifts goes beyond crass, stated Judicial Watch Chairman and General Counsel Larry Klayman.

Hillary Clintons disregard of Senate gift rules and standards of conduct appears to be a violation of law, added Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton.
