Court Orders Cases to Proceed Concerning Energy Crisis and Davis� Chinagate Involvement (Washington, DC) Judicial Watch, the public interest law firm that investigates and prosecutes public abuse and corruption, recently scored two key victories in lawsuits against California Governor Gray Davis. Davis was sued when he refused to turn over documents, pursuant to the California Public Records Act, about, among other energy-related issues, the huge amount of political campaign contributions which he took from energy utilities, as well as his ties to key Chinagate fundraisers. Davis moved to dismiss both lawsuits, but recently the Superior Court for the County of Los Angeles threw out Governor Davis� dismissal motions.
