Janet Reno was the most corrupt U.S. Attorney General in history. She presided over the murder of innocent men, women and children at Waco. She covered up nearly every scandal of the Clinton-Gore Administration. She ruthlessly violated civil liberties. She showed contempt for the U.S. Constitution. She tore little Elian from the arms of freedom and delivered him into the clutches of Fidel Castro.
Now, Janet Reno is running for Governor of Florida.
Judicial Watch takes no position on candidates for public office. We are concerned about one thing and one thing only-that every single person be held accountable for their crimes. Janet Reno can run for any office she wants. But no one is above the law. Not even a former Attorney General like Janet Reno.
Judicial Watch currently has several lawsuits against Reno that are moving through the court system. The most well-known is obviously the Elian Gonzalez lawsuit.
But there are others. For example, JW represents a patriotic INS agent in Miami who was punished for refusing to follow Reno's plan to suppress the truth about the Nazi-like raid of the home of Elian's Miami relatives.
Judicial Watch represents virtually the entire neighborhood of Little Havana, where Reno ordered the gassing and beating of innocent supporters of Elian, who were praying for him on Easter weekend.
"For eight years, Janet Reno covered up the facts about Clinton-Gore's criminal activities, delayed in investigating them, and refused to appoint independent counsels to prosecute the Administration's crimes," said JW Chairman Larry Klayman. "She let them off the hook to score political points, to build support for her run for office. The time has come for her to answer for her crimes."
