RADICAL ISLAMIC NON-PROFITS STILL OPERATING IN U.S.
Despite warnings by JW, radical Islamic non-profits continue to operate freely in the United States, possibly funneling funds to known terrorists. In fact, it is still possible, not to mention perfectly legal, for any individual to send money to groups such as the Islamic African Relief Agency in Missouri, an organization linked to bin Laden and the bombing of U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania.
On September 20, 2001, JW filed a complaint with the IRS asking that assets for 16 such non-profits be seized. Thus far, in a small victory, two are under investigation by the Treasury Department.
