Bush Administration Aids Hillary in Legal Battle

On February 19, something happened in a Washington, DC Appeals Court hearing that will leave conservatives everywhere shaking their heads in disbelief — the Bush Administration worked hand-in-hand with the Democratic National Committee to provide free legal counsel for none other than Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Judicial Watch’s lawsuit against Hillary Clinton, brought on behalf of its client, White House whistleblower Sheryl Hall, targets Clinton’s misuse of White House computer resources to help raise money for Democratic candidates and causes. When Ms. Hall refused to participate in this illegal fundraising scheme, she was forced from her career staff position at the Clinton-Gore White House.

Clinton’s actions are in clear violation of the Hatch Act and other federal laws that prohibit the use of government resources for political fundraising.

“Rather than improperly giving Mrs. Clinton free legal representation, the Bush Justice Department ought to be prosecuting her,” said JW President Tom Fitton. “One really has to begin to wonder why the Bush Administration is so eager to help cover up the crimes of the previous administration.”
