Appeals Court Rules Against Louis Freeh in Chinagate Case
A Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals recently rejected an attempt by the Bush Administration to block Judicial Watch's case on behalf of Energy Department whistleblower Notra Trulock. The case will now move forward in the Eastern District of Virginia's "Rocket Docket."
It was Mr. Trulock who exposed the theft of nuclear secrets at Los Alamos Laboratory and wrote an article critical of the FBI's investigation of the matter. In retaliation for his courage, Mr. Trulock was subject to an illegal search of his home and seizure of his property by Louis Freeh's FBI and had his name and reputation smeared by admitted felon Wen Ho Lee, the man responsible for the Los Alamos disaster.
"Judicial Watch is pleased with the court's ruling," said JW President Tom Fitton. "Louis Freeh directed the most incompetent and corrupt FBI in our nation's history and now he will finally have to answer for his crimes."
The complaint filed by JW alleges Freeh violated Mr. Trulock's First Amendment rights.
