Bush Cozies Up to Clinton

President Bush has now extended his goodwill to Bill Clinton beyond the "see no evil" stance he adopted with respect to the former president’s crimes. Clinton was given a spot with a U.S. delegation attending the May 20 celebration of independence for East Timor, a former Indonesian territory that annexed from Jakarta in 1999. In fact, Clinton was the Bush Administration¹s lead representative at the event. (Ironically, East Timor freed itself from the same corrupt Indonesian government that tried to bribe Clinton through the infamous Lippo Group.)

Former presidents are rarely asked to serve succeeding Administrations in an official capacity. According to a USA Today report, "Administration officials say the motivation to send Clinton was to convey a message of ‘no hard feelings’ toward his administration."

"Instead of extending an olive branch to Bill Clinton, the Administration ought to be investigating the Clintons for their crimes," said JW Chairman Larry Klayman. "While the Bush Administration may have Œno hard feelings’ towards Bill Clinton, many Americans and Judicial Watch do. No matter how long it takes, JW will pursue the Clintons doggedly in pursuit of justice."
