On May 30, Judicial Watch delivered piles of citizen petitions to the Department of Justice and the Department of Defense regarding several of its crucial cases, including.... * (IRS CASE) Thousands to the Department of Justice and the Office of John Ashcroft, Attorney General of the U.S. This particular petition asks Ashcroft to "use the considerable resources of the DOJ to vigorously and thoroughly criminally investigate Commissioner Charles Rossotti and the IRS as a whole." * (GLOBAL CROSSING / LI KA-SHING) Thousands were delivered to Donald Rumsfeld and his Department of Defense. The petition reads: "I, the undersigned, and a lawful citizen of the United States of America, hereby petition United States Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld to use your considerable influence to stop the Communist Chinese company, Hutchinson Whampoa, from buying out the bankrupted company, Global Crossing. If the Department of State, the Department of Justice, the Federal Communications Commission and the Securities and Exchange Commission approve this deal, a vital and sizable part of the United States’ international communications infrastructure would be controlled by Communist China."
