ABUSED CLINTON WOMEN STRIKE BACK! GENNIFER FLOWERS EARNS MAJOR COURT VICTORY
Bill and Hillary Soon to be Deposed
One the heels of a remarkable Judicial Watch victory on behalf of Dolly Kyle Browning (see page 4), another of Clinton’s female victims recently fought back in court – and won. On November 12, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals reversed a lower court and ruled that JW’s conspiracy and defamation lawsuit on behalf of Gennifer Flowers can proceed against Hillary Clinton, James Carville and George Stephanopolous.
This latest decision gives rise to the probability that both Bill and Hillary Clinton will be deposed by JW early in 2003 and finally brought to justice for their criminal behavior!
“This ruling clearly reveals the importance of never giving up,” said JW Chairman Larry Klayman. “With JW by her side, Ms. Flowers has battled her way through the justice system in the last three years. Thanks to her tenacity, justice for the Clintons is finally in sight.”
JW’s lawsuit alleges that Hillary Clinton and the her two chief hatchet men, Stephanopolous and Carville, launched a massive smear campaign against Ms. Flowers after she revealed in 1991 that she had an affair with then Governor Clinton. They outright accused Ms. Flowers of deceit and fraud in numerous public appearances, damaging her reputation and compromising her ability to make a living.
For example, Ms. Flowers wisely taped intimate conversations with Clinton that both Carville and Stephanopolous publicly said during various were “doctored” by Ms. Flowers – a claim that both knew to be patently false. According to the Los Angeles Times, the duo also said that Ms. Flowers lied to the press when she disclosed the affair, a claim repeated by the Clintons in a 60 Minutes interview and then later retracted in the face of the audiotape evidence.
Hillary Clinton, for her part, was allegedly the mastermind behind the campaign to intimidate Ms. Flowers and destroy her credibility. Fearful that Ms. Flowers’ accusations would jeopardize the Clintons’ rise to power, she developed what would become a signature technique for the Clinton Administration -- slash and burn politics. She allegedly first disclosed private information about Ms. Flowers and then launched an intimidation campaign against her that included organized break-ins at her residence.
Despite these efforts and the trickery employed by the Clintons’ legal team, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals would not be fooled and Ms. Flowers would not be denied her day in court. This case goes to the heart of the Clinton smear machine, and may prevent it from operating against other innocents as Hillary Clinton seeks higher office, such as the Presidency.
“Gennifer Flowers claims that defendants knew she was telling the truth…but accused her of being a liar and a fraud anyway. If Flowers’ claims are true, her suit does not offend the First Amendment,” wrote Judge Alex Kozinski on behalf of the three-judge panel.
The panel’s ruling on the case was unanimous. One of the judges that ruled in favor of JW and Ms. Flowers was a two-time Clinton appointee. The case now moves forward to the discovery phase.
