Hello Dolly!
Conspiracy Case Against Bill Clinton Also Moves Forward

Not too long ago, Bill Clinton thought he was off the hook for his campaign to defame Dolly Kyle Browning. But in a stunning reversal of fortunes, on June 12, 2002 the U.S. Court of Appeals reversed a lower court ruling that had thrown Judicial Watch’s case out. And now, Judicial Watch is making plans to depose Bill Clinton, forcing the former President to answer for his shameless behavior in a court of law.

Ms. Browning brought her suit against Bill Clinton and his top aides for blocking publication of her book, Purposes of the Heart, a semi-autobiographical novel that chronicled Ms. Browning’s 30-year relationship with Clinton. After the former President’s smear campaign, Ms. Browning could not find a publisher for her book, despite the fact that it had been forecasted by the publishing industry as a “bombshell” that could “knock Primary Colors” out of the headlines.

On October 31, the first step in Ms. Browning’s long path to justice began with a status conference in federal court before the Honorable William B. Bryant, during which discovery deadlines and trial dates were discussed. Lawyers for Bill Clinton were present and lost their initial effort to keep Bill Clinton from testifying under oath.

Discovery in this case (including oral testimony) will begin in 2003, with a first order of business being obtaining Clinton’s sworn testimony.
