JW Victory!
Clinton-Gore E-mail to be Searched

Judge Royce C. Lamberth ruled on December 16, 2002 that Clinton-Gore White House e-mail must be searched for information pertaining to Judicial Watch's Filegate case. This represents a clear-cut victory for Judicial Watch over the Clinton and Bush Administrations, both of which have tried every legal trick at their disposal to keep the e-mails secret.

"Why would the Clinton and Bush Administrations go to such extraordinary lengths to block the search of these e-mails if there is nothing to hide?" asked JW Chairman Larry Klayman. "These e-mail likely contain a treasure trove of information pertaining to Filegate and the many other scandals JW uncovered during Bill Clinton's eight years in office. Finally we'll get a chance to view the evidence."

Judicial Watch discovered the missing e-mail through its client, Sheryl Hall, a former top computer official at the Clinton White House, who testified that incriminating e-mails relating to Clinton-Gore scandals were never produced in response to subpoenas and document requests from Judicial Watch and others. Furthermore, when White House computer contractors discovered the missing e-mail, top Clinton officials threatened them with jail time if they did not keep their mouths shut.

In addition to official White House e-mails, Judge Lamberth also ordered Bill and Hillary's e-mail accounts to be searched. In the Judicial Watch case now known as Filegate, it was Hillary Clinton who masterminded the scheme to illegally acquire the private FBI files of perceived political opponents and to use the information to blackmail them into submission. Judicial Watch represents those victimized by Hillary Clinton in a $90 million class action lawsuit.

With respect to the e-mails, Judge Lamberth is now deciding whether or not criminal contempt proceedings should commence for the Clinton e-mail coverup. That decision is expected within the next few months.
