Judicial Watch Meets With Congress to Toughen U.S.
Sanctions Against Cuba
Joined by its clients and victims of Castro’s oppression, Judicial
Watch walked the halls of Congress demanding that action be taken
against Fidel Castro and his torturous regime.
The group began the week by meeting with Kansas Senator Sam Brownback,
a member of the Foreign Relations Committee and a strong human rights
advocate. Cuban-American members of Congress, Ileana Ros-Lehtinen,
Lincoln Diaz-Balart and Mario Diaz-Balart then held a lengthy meeting
with Judicial Watch representatives.
Even Arizona Congressman Jeff Flake, who supports ending the trade
embargo with Cuba, opened his doors to Judicial Watch and its Cuban
American clients to listen to their pleas.
"The Bush administration freed Iraq for the Iraqi people, and
now it’s time to free Cuba for the Cuban people," said
JW Chairman Larry Klayman, who led the group. "Our national security
is being threatened by Castro."
