Imminent Terrorist Attack Warning By Feds on US Border—Ft. Bliss Increases Security

AUGUST 29, 2014

UPDATED: 08/31/2014 at 4:45 PM ET

Islamic terrorist groups are operating in the Mexican border city of Ciudad Juarez and planning to attack the United States with car bombs or other vehicle borne improvised explosive devices (VBIED). High-level federal law enforcement, intelligence and other sources have confirmed to Judicial Watch that a warning bulletin for an imminent terrorist attack on the border has been issued. Agents across a number of Homeland Security, Justice and Defense agencies have all been placed on alert and instructed to aggressively work all possible leads and sources concerning this imminent terrorist threat.

Specifically, the government sources reveal that the militant group Islamic State of Iraq and Greater Syria (ISIS) is confirmed to now be operating in Juarez, a famously crime-infested narcotics hotbed situated across from El Paso, Texas. Violent crimes are so rampant in Juarez that the U.S. State Department has issued a number of travel warnings for anyone planning to go there. The last one was issued just a few days ago.

Intelligence officials have picked up radio talk and chatter indicating that the terrorist groups are going to “carry out an attack on the border,” according to one JW source.  “It’s coming very soon,” according to another high-level source, who clearly identified the groups planning the plots as “ISIS and Al Qaeda.” An attack is so imminent that the commanding general at Ft. Bliss, the U.S. Army post in El Paso, is being briefed, JW’s sources say. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) did not respond to multiple inquiries from Judicial Watch, both telephonic and in writing, about this information.

But two days after JW published this report Ft. Bliss implemented increased security measures. The statement that went out to the media attributes the move to several recent security assessments and the constant concern for the safety of military members, families, employees and civilians. However,  El Paso’s newspaper credited JW’s Friday piece about ISIS terrorists planning an attack on U.S. soil from Juarez as a possible factor.

The disturbing inside intelligence comes on the heels of news reports revealing that U.S. intelligence has picked up increased chatter among Islamist terror networks approaching the 13th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. While these terrorists reportedly plan their attack just outside the U.S., President Obama admits that “we don’t have a strategy yet” to combat ISIS. “I don’t want to put the cart before the horse,” the commander-in-chief said this week during a White House press briefing. “I think what I’ve seen in some of the news reports suggest that folks are getting a little further ahead of what we’re at than what we currently are.”

The administration has also covered up, or at the very least downplayed, a serious epidemic of crime along the Mexican border even as heavily armed drug cartels have taken over portions of the region. Judicial Watch has reported that the U.S. Border Patrol actually ordered officers to avoid the most crime-infested stretches because they’re “too dangerous” and patrolling them could result in an “international incident” of cross border shooting. In the meantime, who could forget the famous words of Obama’s first Homeland Security Secretary, Janet Napolitano; the southern border is “as secure as it has ever been.”

These new revelations are bound to impact the current debate about the border crisis and immigration policy.

  • Welcome to Room 101.

Carrying firearms on bases have been prohibited for decades. Even BUSCH Lite declined to permit it knowing the Americans are too trigger happy and will likely kill each other over trivial confrontations.

  • http://orthoman.com/ DockyWocky

In spite of this headline, I would bet that military forces going about their daily business at Fort Bliss are still prohibited from carrying arms, personal, or otherwise, while on the base. There is no real sanity in bureaucracies anymore.

On the lighter side, thanks to the Ukrainians, who showed us what we should do with our political hacks: Toss them in a dumpster. I hope we see some of that right here soon.

If ISIS attacks Fort Bliss, someone should scope out the closest dumpster to the Oval Office, and keep a running list of dumpsters around golf courses ready to go.

  • Old Nuke

But there are still FOUR open and unobstructed crossings from Cuidad Juarez into El Paso. One of those crossings lead right to the vicinity of Fort Bliss.
Don’t you think it is about time to start restricting access from Mexico?

get out and vote this November we just might have a chance in turning this boat

  • Richard Murray

No. Not at all. And for all the reasons you have stated. I even stated it could not happen now, though these forums do not really lend themselves to getting into entire dissertations.

Yes, people from all over want to be here, to be us, and they should. But there are many such as those in power who do not want to change the power structure they have which basically enslaves their people. But yes, I can see a day where all people of the world rise and take their freedom from oppressors, tough not likely in my lifetime. I see instead our own country falling into everything we stand against. This is sadly the reality as opposed to the dream. We have to stay focused on the reality while working toward the dream.

We can take our country back. it is never too late and we can start in November. The longer we delay in restoring our country, the freedoms and ideals our founding fathers envisioned and worked toward with divine guidance, the harder it will be. But we did it before and it can be done again. And as the world once again sees our great country rising from the ashes of potential ruin from certain socialist minded revisionists, and the people of this country once again living in relative peace and prosperity, they will once again attempt to emulate us. We can and should help while building true lasting relationships with strong, free countries.

Idealistic? Sure, but it can happen with the collective will of “We The People!’

    >>Open the borders? I can see a day where it could be beneficial to join all countries together and form one nation, <<

Are you actually advocating for the establishment of a “One World Government” some day? You can’t be serious! That would be disastrous for a free people which we currently have (for now) in the United States. Look at the United Nations, the European Union, or the defunct Federal Republic of Central America and the U.S.S.R., just to name a few examples. DISASTERS!!!

The United States of America is unique and the rest of the world would NEVER give in to our system of governance. I would hope that the CITIZENS of the United States of America would NEVER give up our sovereignty. No other nation in the world has what we’ve got and that’s why everyone is trying to come here. Our borders, language, and culture have been the key to our success thus far and no one should be permitted to destroy that no matter how deluded they may be.

“Fundamentally Transform the United States” ring a bell folks? Remember when a certain virtually unknown and ineffectual Senator of Illinois was campaigning for the Presidency on that stump? Or the one before him touting “The New World Order” before he left office? Those guys are like two peas in a pod and you people had better wake up before it’s too late! Get one more wrong headed person in the Oval Office and you can stick a fork in us because we’ll be done as a free people. Make no bones about it, there’s evil afoot and we have to proceed with caution and due diligence.

  • Bodo Thibodeaux

Are these the same senior managers who placed our border agents 40 miles away from the border and changing diapers? If so, the pay cut is warranted.

  • CaptainAmerica

Yeah right. This administration? Benghazi, IRS, VA, Fast and Furious. What on God’s green earth would make you believe that the government would come clean about anything?

  • dcsco

Yes, is this the same federal government announcing this “terrorist” threat, that also opened the border up to begin with?
Apparently so. It looks like they planned it. Although I admit that I do not see for what purpose yet, but that will become apparent soon too. It could easily be stopped, if they would just secure the border as they are supposed to, but that does not seem to be their plan.
Who knows how many of those immigrant “children” are really operatives and setups.
“Fast and Furious” was phase 1, and this could be phase 2.

  • http://lambright.com/ wayne lambright

Where is the link from the US government about this story?

  • PatrolAgent

Great time to pull this off. The U.S. Border Patrol senior managers were just hit with an immediate 25% decrease in pay. Yup, congress was upset that patrol agents assigned to be instructors at the academy should not receive “Administratively Uncontrollable Overtime” (AUO), the staffers at the USBP HQ and third and fourth line supervisors in the field. Some of these managers run very large stations, supervising hundreds of agents 24/7 operations and congress expects them to continue in their jobs for 25% less pay? While their first and second line subordinate managers will be making more money. This is nuts, demoralizing, and destabilizing at time when we should be finding ways to keep our first line of defense strong and focused on our national security.

Too bad JW has devolved into gossip and rumors.

  • Rocko19

Gather everyone of these illegals and put on military transport plane and send to GTMO, pronounced gitmo
by the US Military personnel stationed there.

More then “enough space to house” all 18 million of them.. Guantánamo: located on 45 square miles (120 km2) of land and water.

The Naval Base is divided into five main geographical sections: Leeward Point, Windward Point, and Guantánamo Bay. Guantánamo Bay physically divides the Naval Station into sections. The bay extends past the boundaries of the base into Cuba, where the bay is then referred to as Bahía de Guantánamo. Guantánamo Bay contains several cays, which are identified as Hospital Cay, Medico Cay, North Toro Cay, and South Toro Cay.

Leeward Point of the Naval Station is the site of the active airfield. Major geographical features on Leeward Point include Mohomilla Bay and the Guantánamo River. Three beaches exist on the Leeward side. Two are available for use by base residents, while the third, Hicacal Beach, is closed.

Windward Point contains most of the activities on the Naval Station. There are nine beaches available to base personnel. The highest point on the base is John Paul Jones hill at a total of 495 feet… The geography of Windward Point is such that there are many coves and peninsulas along the bay shoreline providing ideal areas for mooring ships.

In my humble opinion, no better place to house and school them, till sent to where them came from.
This keeps them out of our hospitals and schools. Set up a INS station with court for processing them.

    Anyone have a better idea?

  • boone1

No sir I was not I was saying that Bush knew of these training camps and did nothing about them. And it’s very true that the US Military trained ISIS under the orders from obama and the problem we have sir is that the people in this country do not want to hear the truth even if it hit them in the face.

  • Richard Murray

We could certainly go back and forth on the effectiveness, and even the motivations concerning our work over the years in Columbia and other countries. It really serves no genuine purpose except in a historical sense, but even then real facts are about impossible to truly ascertain. Be that as it may, the acts of aggression allow us to take whatever action we deem necessary to stop illegal activity from coming into our country.

Open the borders? I can see a day where it could be beneficial to join all countries together and form one nation, but this cannot happen now and certainly not under the present circumstances. Not that we even have the will to accomplish what would be needed. And of course there are more pressing international situations that require the diminishing resources we have.

I am actually, albeit slowly as I have the time, writing about this. Research is intensive and resources are way too limited right now, but there is so much most people do not know and for the most part could care less about. I see people opening their eyes these days, but still they are reluctant to accept and act on the truth.

And, BTW, I am not in any way a conspiracy nut. I seek only the truth. There is so much garbage out there right now that so many are reading and believing it is hard to stop it and show the truth.

  • DrZarkov99

In the case of Columbia, our DEA and military have been working constructively with that government to curtail drug cartels and extremists. We’ve had varying degrees of success with other Latin American states in working together, but our patience should be exhausted by now with most of them, especially our nearest neighbor, Mexico. Now that those entities are lecturing us on how we should be opening our borders and sending more money to their sadly corrupt aristocracies, maybe the time to start getting tougher is upon us.

  • Richard Murray

If you are looking at me to say Bush was such a great guy, you are barking up the wrong tree! He did some things right, but when it came to border security, among some other things, I was among his biggest critics! Many have forgotten the newspaper by now, but we were under constant attack from the Bush administration for publishing true news from the border and other sensitive political issues. My agenda then as now is the truth no matter where it lies, even if the facts show I am wrong. I never change the facts like so many news agencies do to suit my agenda. I change my beliefs to suit the facts as the truth is imperative.

It is the Bush administration that forced my paper to close.

  • Richard Murray

The only thing I would really argue with is the at of war. A few years ago the UN, who had really set the definition of and act of war, outlawed the phrase! It is now an, “Act of aggression!”

If you research the UN site we find the breakdown of the definition and acts that constitute such an act. The following is included so you tell me!

    1. Any state that allows illegal activity to cross its borders.
    2. Any state that either deliberately crosses a border or allows its military or police to cross a border without the express permission of the bordering state.
    3. Any state that uses its forces to attack the citizens or agents of the bordering state.
    4. Any state that allows another state to cross through to commit crimes in another state.
    5. Any state that allows another state to access their territories for the purpose of any illegal activity.

These are not worded exactly the way as the UN as I did not go their to copy the terms, but you will find they are accurate none-the-less. There is also much more, but these are the pertinent items. In each case you can find many examples over the years how Mexico has committed acts of aggression which would allow us to go in militarily, and not just there! Head south to most Central and South American states such as those shipping drugs and guns into our country for whatever purpose and even the flow of illegal aliens into our country.

I am not really advocating the use of our military in Mexico or any other country south of our borders, but there may soon come a time when it is necessary, especially since the existence of ISIS and other terrorist organizations has finally come to light.

  • NewHampshire

We’re not hearing anything from Obama and he doesn’t yet have a strategy, because he will be leading the ISIS charge against the US at the southern border. Has anyone else figured out that he is selling our country out to the Muslim terrorists, who are his good buddies?

  • boone1

My friend you are so damn right.

  • boone1

Hell that’s not all there are 36 training bases in this country along for these terrorists and are own US Military trained ISIS right here in the good old U.S.A on these muslim terrorists bases. Now you tell me why in hell would this government let this happen and this was before Obama and Bush set the whole damn thing up.And everyone called Bush a good guy good guy my ASS.

  • giley1

CA Governor Brown last week entertained El Presdente Nieto of Mexico and played the yes man. First and foremost, no mention of our Marine still sitting in jail for just making the wrong turn. No mention of our borders being invaded by thousands of illegal children from Central America escorted by Mexico’s drug cartels who are raking in millions. On top of that, Brown extends the tuition assistance for illegal aliens while American citizens are not given the same privilege. No doubt, our borders are wide open for a major event by terrorist but Obama does not want to “put the cart before the horse” now that is some serious talk.

  • CaptainCurmudgeon

  • DrZarkov99

The Mexican government’s passive assent to the uncontrolled criminal activity originating on their side of the border is dangerously close to an act of war against the U.S. They need to be put on notice that they have two choices: either be more aggressive at reining in the cartels (and their terrorist associates); or they need to acknowledge that such effort is beyond their means, and agree that the U.S. has a right to conduct law enforcement (and possibly military) activities that may cross the border into Mexican territory. We are in a situation much like the Pancho Villa raids into U.S. territory a hundred years ago, when we sent General “Black Jack” Pershing into Mexico in pursuit of that criminal.

  • Shane

The Mexican drug cartels are making a lot of money smuggling people across the border, and some of these people are from the Middle East. Let’s declare these drug cartels to be terrorist groups and sic our military on them. We know that Obama is letting young gang members from Central America into our country and now it appears that Islamic jihadists are crossing our southern border from Mexico. It’s time for Obama to stop golfing and fund-raising and work with Congress to secure our southern border.

  • scottytreid

If US corporations and International Banking cartels were not depressing their economies then they would not come here. The past two administrations have been walking guns to the cartels through the ATF while the DEA is making special deals with certain cartels to allow them to smuggle drugs in exchange for information. Instead of allowing these countries to legalize cannabis and any other drug people use, the USA gives them money to keep drugs illegal therefore creating the violence that most of them are fleeing from. You know who the biggest employers of so-called “illegals” are? The Federal government and the GEO Group who use the slave labor of these refugees while their locked up. Anyone who is locked into the partisan political blame game is terribly naive about how the system works. Some people just do not get it. Corporations nor politicians of any stripe want the borders closed, they are making too much money off the drugs and all the free or cheap labor.

  • Barb3000

scottytreid, I think someone needs to tell the President of Mexico and all of the politicians in Mexico to stop meddling in our business as well. Its well known that Mexico basically expects the US to take in any illegal alien from Mexico without any complaints. Mexico sends all of their poor to the US so their poor can get a education free, Mexican schools only pay for grades I believe to the 8th grade and then the parents have to start paying for the schooling. Here in the US the whole load is paid for by the taxpayers so Mexico is getting a really good deal encouraging all of their poor to sneak in anyway they can find a job and send billions of US dollars back to Mexico that provides a good sized chunk of their economy but what about all of that money being taken out of our economy? Those dollars are gone never to be seen again.

  • http://about.me/greggveach Gregg

He is in it up to his ears, and rather large ears they are!

  • Richard Murray

When I was still running my newspaper, the former Tombstone Tumbleweed out of Tombstone, AZ, we were truly the preeminent source for news from the border as the only newspaper who would print anything of value besides us was the Washington Times, and many of their stories came from us. (Though Steve Dinan is a real journalist and still does a great job actually reporting real news.)

We spent a lot of time out in the desert and along the border. We documented thousands of illegals as well as smugglers, armed lookout posts, attacks on our citizens as well as the Border agents. We also documented Muslims, many of them. At one point we found and reported on a prayer rug, Koran, and a notebook written in Farsi. We were just getting the book translated when the FBI confiscated everything to include our computers and they took down our web site, but not before we had posted the findings with pictures and at least 300,000 people saw it there. This was in 2004 o 05 I believe. From what little we got from the notebook before it was taken, we did know it was a diary which included prayers as well as plans, but what plans we were not able to find out. The phrase, “We will accomplish the will of Allah through the spilling of their blood,” as well as the word bomb were mentioned at least twice as far as we could tell.

We had also published a story related to us by a former Mexican official who had sought protection here that made the claim of at least five al Qaeda training camps in Mexico and we published a map of the locations that were pointed out to us. That story was also removed from our web site, but not from the print version of the paper.

We have known for a longtime that these terrorists were in Mexico and being smuggled into our country. We have also known that the cartels and MS-13 gang members we working with them. But the government has done a very good job, along with the complicit media, to keep all of this from the American people. But I have seen much with my own eyes! I have stated for years that with the many incursions by Mexican military into our country, attacks on our people, terrorists operating in Mexico and much more, if the people as a whole knew the truth about the border they would overrun the government to insure the border was secure.

And my friend Debbie Shlussel in Detroit can tell you much more about our northern border than you ever wanted to know!

  • Joshua

Is there a reference to this note above? Author and actual date it was written? Thank you

  • lordonlow

right on. in the fall of 2008, the “single” largest welfare payments in history were made to the biggest gangsters of all times. think about it: one minute banks were crushed, and then in THE VERY NEXT YEAR were posting record profits and bonuses – WITH OUR MONEY!

and we now know that this gangster bankster cartel has sponsored drug and terrorist organizations, yet NONE have even been indicted, much less prosecuted and thrown in the slammer! it’s amazing the american dis-connect between money and terrorism.

to make matters worse, america had been in bed with the saudis since… geez, like a loooooong time. of the 9/11 terrorists the vast majority were from where?

three guesses and the first two are practice.

mark “deep throat” felt said, and i paraphrase, that the watergate break in was nothing, but if woodward and bernstein followed the money they’d discover the ugly truth about america; that corruption runs deep and wide, all the way to the top, and that its scope is so vast us little people would be blown away.

nothing, not a thing, gets done without money. for every day americans, follow it and you may not get the entire truth, but it’s illuminating as hell.

  • Barb3000

None of this surprises me at all. I tried to explain in emails to my congressmen what was going on on the border I asked him to call and talk to some of the border Sheriff Departments along the border with Mexico in TX, AZ and New Mexico but I never heard a peep back. I spent 20 years living in AZ so I am familiar with some of the border problems that state has had. But I never heard of the problems as bad as they are now. What is coming across the border now as we know are heavily armed drug cartel members along with terrorists dressed as Mexicans. They are joining in with the populations in the small towns in Mexico running businesses as a front, learning the language and keeping a close watch on the border from their vantage points. I knew this at least 8 or 9 years ago the information coming from Mexicans living in Mexico that knew about this. The background of any new president or VP is military experience simply because of the training they have had and their ability to understand what is happening on the ground anywhere in the world. Their ability to sit down and discuss a strategy with the Pentagon to take out a dangerous terrorist organization like ISIS. Because we are heading for another 9/11 because of our wide open southern border we need the military stationed on our borders north and south or at least drones on the northern border with Canada.

virginia’s the one reader here i agree with, alluding to mark “deep throat” felt’s sage words: FOLLOW THE MONEY. hsbc has, as part of their recent settlement, admitted to laundering mountains of cash. wanna bet their clients weren’t people you wanna see moving in next door?

despite these revelations, everyone seems to think – or “they” WANT us to think – that THE problem is the boots on the ground and be-heading videos. those are merely the expressions of the money flowing to the parties performing heinous acts. think of it this way; when the bank does something heinous, should we be chasing our tails trying to weed out bank tellers or prosecuting executives responsible for making the decisions that led to EM08, the econ meltdown of 2008…?

poverty is also at the root of terrorism. funny how we never see rich kids blowing themselves up. but of course we here in the states want to obfuscate the truth amidst high level babble that does NOTHING to address causes.

but, as eisenhower and smedley butler warned, war is big business.

I am more concerned by the terrorist groups calling themselves police departments who are the enforcers of Big Government and 13th Amendment modern slavery which has led to world’s largest legalized human trafficking network called the prison system. The USA is responsible for all the violence south of the border with their big spending on a unwinnable drug war that has poured trillions down the drain. Stop meddling in the internal affairs of sovereign nations and sticking your nose into the disputes between other nations and mind your own damn business. And I’m sure the lobbyist for private prisons and immigration detention facilities are working hard to keep the borders open so they can keep raking in the profits. The GEO Group on an earnings call was salivating at the border crisis saying it was a great opportunity to make money.

bho quote,”America can withstand another 9/11 attack.” He told them when he would withdraw from Iraq & Afghanistan giving them plenty of time to recruit & plan for the next attack. He called ISIS a JV group knowing he was lying. He shipped arms through Turkey to Syria. Someone convince me this was not planned & he is in it up to his ears.He will not go to war with terrorist because it is against their code.
