Mr. Moraes’ visit to the United States was sponsored by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. Mr. Moraes sits on the International Desk of Brazil’s largest circulating daily newspaper, Folha de Sao Paulo, “which is read closely by the political and economic elite in Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Brasilia.”
Mr. Moraes visited with Judicial Watch representatives to learn more about Judicial Watch’s mission and to discuss its cases. While in the U.S., he met with various federal and non-governmental agencies, associations and think tanks to discuss international issues, such as arms control, U.S./Cuban policy and Homeland Security in the post-9/11 era.
