Please approve CRB actions listed below per your authority act behalf the CRB pending the next 
Executive Committed and General Membership meeting. 

The CRB Leadership Committee met earlier today with representatives the Miami-Dade State Attorney's 
Office, including Chief Assistants Don Horn, Kathleen Hogue, Jose Arrojo and Communications Director 
Griffith and Assistants Rayna Louis and Janeen Jones. CRB members attendance were Shohat, who 
chaired the meeting, Reinaldo Valdes, Maritza Lopez and Dr. Brad Brown. Also present were Maria Shohat 
and Rochelie Borelan, Commissioner Jordan's Office, Retha Boone-Fye, Amy Carswell, Eddie Harris, Yvans 
Morisseau. The participants heard and presentation from SAO staff and lively discussion ensued. The CRB 
members then met with staff and made the following recommendations 

That the CRB issue position paper about the need for calm and determined action the community, describing concerns about the Stand Your Ground law, describing some actions that have been taken other agencies (DOJ, State legislators, FBI, FDLE) and announcing CRB youth initiative. currently preparing draft collaboration with Shohat. The document will vetted with those present the leadership meeting ensure factual accuracy and the important points are included. have also received commitment collaborate from the Office State Senator Oscar Braynon. 
That the CRB convene community forum town hall cooperation with the Miami-Dade County Public Schools for the purpose providing students opportunity empowered sharing their concerns and proposals for action with panel CRB leaders, agency leaders and elected officials. Panel members would respond students concerns and comments, appropriate, and recommend actions for empowerment. The forum would public event convened the CRB and public comments limited Miami-Dade high school students only.

FYI: You may recall that the nephew CRB Executive Committee member Ronald Fulton was shot and killed under mysterious circumstances February 26, 2012 while visiting his family Sanford Florida. Trayvon Martin was years age. The year old man who admitted shooting Trayvon has not been arrested. There growing community interest and national and local media coverage the case and CRB leaders and staff are monitoring local tensions. Some students Turner Technical School wore "hoodies" but were dissuaded school officials from walking out class. There were likely other actions other schools. understand all student actions today have concluded without major incidents reported. have received reports that students other Miami-Dade High Schools may initiative other student led actions tomorrow.
