2011

Judicial Watch spearheads investigation into secret Obama administration efforts to grant amnesty to millions of illegal aliens while going around Congress and the will of the American people in a scheme termed “Backdoor Amnesty.” Judicial Watch uncovered numerous documents exposing administration’s abuse of power and efforts to corrupt the 2012 elections with illegal backdoor amnesty measures. This scandal has all the hallmarks of a constitutional crisis.

2010 – 2011

Judicial Watch represents the entire Arizona State Legislature in federal court in defense of its immigration enforcement law SB 1070, which is under unprecedented attack by the Obama Department of Justice.

Judicial Watch represents Arizona State Senate President Russell Pearce in his defense of his state’s “Legal Arizona Workers Act” against a legal attack from the Obama administration. The Supreme Court upheld Sen. Pearce’s landmark law that targets the illegal hiring of illegal aliens.

2009

Judicial Watch files a lawsuit against the Houston Police Department on behalf of Houston Police Sergeant Joslyn Johnson, the widow of Rodney Johnson, a Houston, Texas policeman killed in the line of duty by an illegal alien. We are seeking to overturn Houston’s “sanctuary” policy for illegal aliens.

2008

California Appeals Court rules in favor of Judicial Watch lawsuit and strikes a San Francisco Police Department “sanctuary” policy that violated the California Constitution by prohibiting police officers from notifying federal immigration authorities in certain drug cases where suspected aliens are arrested.
