Promoting Integrity - Ethics Complaints

President and Executive Officers

The Code of Conduct of the House of Representatives asks that a Member "conduct himself at all times in a manner that shall reflect creditably on the House" and "adhere to the spirit and the letter of the Rules of the House." The U.S. Senate ethics rules call for discipline when a member's conduct "reflects unfavorably upon the Senate." Unfortunately, members of Congress have proven unwilling to enforce ethics rules. In the absence of congressional leadership, Judicial Watch files ethics complaints and mounts public pressure campaigns to force members of Congress to police their own affairs. The following are ethics complaints and other actions taken by Judicial Watch to promote integrity in Congress.
