Guests: Atsushi Izumi, Associate Professor, Tokyo International University; Tomosazu Serizawa, Officer, Japan’s Center for Preventive Diplomacy
As participants in the International Visitor Project through the U.S. Department of State’s administration of the Phelps Stokes Fund, Messrs. Izumi and Serizawa met with Judicial Watch representatives to discuss its structure, function and “how Judicial Watch’s activities promote democracy and transparency.”
The focus of Mr. Serizawa’s professional career has been on peacekeeping and conflict prevention. He is currently working on “shaping Japan’s contribution to peace building throughout the Asia-Pacific region and the rest of the world.” Mr. Izumi has worked as an election monitor in the Middle East, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Cambodia.
