Another question is, Can Blagojevich, under arrest, still appoint someone to fill the vacancy left by Obama? I was under the impression that it was up to the state legislature to fill senatorial vacancies, as per the U.S. Constitution.
Why didn't Team Obama immediately correct senior advisor David Axelrod after he "misspoke" about Obama and Blagojevich discussing the Senate seat vacancy? Who can believe anything anyone in the Obama Camp says?
I have been posting about obama and his connection to rezko for the last two years and no one picked it up. Will they finally pick up on the fact that obama was also connected to the Iraqi crook, a buddy of Saddam, who took his money and ran to Britain before the US bombed Iraqi. No name was mentioned but Auchi thru rezko had tried to get a prominent politican, whom he had met in Chicago at rezko's party, to revoke the ban on his visa to the US> Name mentioned as to who the politican was.....obama. But then rezko got arrested and the whole thing went away.

According to investigators they have over 100 tapes of recordings of IL Gov and neither Barack Obama or any member of his team are on any of them

As I watch the Illinois Senate seat scandal unfold, it is not surprising to see such for a corrupt city in a corrupt state. Hopefully, the prosecuting U.S. Attorney, (a Republican), will not be fired by the new President-Elect when he takes office in January.
Corruption is not limited to Democrats or Republicans but even here in the state of Texas, similar activities take place. I sort of look for something to bust wide open concerning Rick Perry, the current government who is up to his neck in road building arrangements with construction industry. Perhaps prosecutor Fitzgerald should be transferred here after he wraps things up in Illinois.
As a long time conservative Republican, I'm appalled with the misuse of the public trust by a majority of our elected officials. A very sad situation indeed...
