It would be absolute suicide for this Country if AMNESTY were granted to the 20 million or so ILLEGAL ALIENS. We have more and more people out of work everyday and they want to add another 20 million to this Country? I say, "NO"!

We have limited resources as a City, State and Country. You cannot expect us to demand that legal workers take a pay cut or that we cut services so that we can feed, educate, and give you free medical treatment. Gov. of CA has the unmitigated gall to provide a sanctuary for illegals, run the budget into the ground and now is whining and demanding money from the federal budget. I deeply resent any of my tax monies being used to bail out that state or any other which sanctions the rights of illegals and doles out services to them, whilc our citizens go wanting. Does the U.S. Constitution not refer to the Citizens of Our Country? Do illegal aliens have civil rights or just human rights? I interpret the Constitution words stating that it protects the rights of Citizens--legal Citizens.

If someone came into the clinic or emergency room that they knew was breaking the law (let's say they had a gunshot wound or suspected domestic violence), they have a responsibility to call the police. They have no choice. What is the difference here? There are legal avenues to gain citizenship, if they choose not to be here legally they are breaking our laws. Then they should be turned over to the police/immigration and deported.
So many felonies in California are committed by illegal immigrants. I am so sick of that saying, "They do the work that Americans won't do". That is B.S. Here's another thing: According to the California State Constitution, English is the official language of the state. You see billboards, ads in mail, etc. in Spanish!! Plus ballot pamphlets are printed in so many different languages it is insane.

What has happened to our country?? Yes, most of us came from immigrants to this country but our immigrant forefathers came, fought and died for our beliefs and freedoms. I would hate to think they died for naught. They didn't get a free ride, no they didn't work in the fields--they had to clear the fields by hand not just pick the harvest. They had to live in sod huts and endure worse than anyone south of the Rio Grande. No running water in the Colonias--geez, too bad.
Why should an illegal person whine about not getting free health care? Perhaps they should volunteer to clean up the VA Hospitals where our military are trying to heal both physically and mentally from a war to keep our country safe. Instead, they sit on their fat butts, eating their high fat diets and then complain because no one will give them free medical care for their self induced diabetes. Let them go back wherever they came from and fight and die to make it free. But, let's see--they would have to get off their fat butts to do that!

What if the tables were turned and the "illegal" immigrants actually paid income taxes? Looks like the primary objection people have to the state paying for social services to immigrants is because this group of immigrants themselves are not income tax payers (note that they do pay sales tax just like the rest of us). Maybe it's time to get undocumented workers a variation of pseudo green card status so their earnings could help offset the state budget crisis. The way I see it, the state/counties already funds these social services by employing the staff, running the facilities, advertising and incurring other expenses related to operating the facilities. This is regardless of who they serve. Aside from closing down the facilities, reducing the staff or their pay (in state/county run clinics, schools, jails, courts etc), or simply deporting the incarcerated, the "savings" projected by the county is just funny money being moved from one bucket to another. Maybe I'm being too simplistic, but don't get blindsided into believing that this is a measure to validate the ill conceived notion that illegal immigrants are to blame for the budget crisis. This hard working classification of immigrants is just the scapegoat for the state's lack of budgeting and forecasting oversight. Something to think about the next time you browse through the produce at the grocery store. If you want to discuss your views on illegal immigration in general, I suggest you find a more disciplined and effective forum in which to state your objections to the CA legislature.

I have a suggestion for anyone that speaks spanish and doesn't have health care. Next time you get sick and need to make a trip to the emergency room; just pretend you are illegal and don't pay the bill. I seriously considered doing that when I was uninsured. I really don't blame the illegals for coming here and taking our resources. Our system is set up to do just that. Our system rewards bad behavior. Everyone wants a piece of the pie. The only problem now is that there is no more. I think the whole welfare, food stamps, wic, etc..programs should go away. No more freebes.

I think all states need to follow Sacramento. I'm tired of the health care providers passing the bill onto legal, paying citizens. I am in desperate need of health care services but can't afford them, even with good health insurance (BC & BS, whom I work for also). Why were we paying for them to get free health care in the first place??? we should cover law abiding, legal American citizen's before we cover people who sneak into this country illegally and try to change it to their own country!
