Judicial Watch recently obtained emails through a FOIA lawsuit that reveal Lois Lerner prevented her supervisor from visiting the IRS Cincinnati office or asking questions about the congressional investigations into the agency’s political targeting scandal. Lerner resorted to this strategy before the 2012 presidential election because she did not want to be caught for causing this scandal. In May 2013, Lerner ultimately fessed up about the targeting scandal at a House Oversight Committee hearing, where she plead the Fifth. Read more about this shocking discovery here.

“These documents also show the IRS knew early on that it was abusing its authority and innocent Americans through burdensome information requests and improper collection of the names of donors to groups that threatened Obama’s reelection.
