LCDR JACK DALY, USN VS. THE RUSSIANS

Blinded Navy Intelligence Officer Goes to Trial Against Far East Shipping Company Over Attack in U.S. Waters

TRIAL

Date: October 7 – 21, 2002
Place: U.S. Courthouse
1010 Fifth Ave.
Seattle, WA 98104

(Washington, DC) Judicial Watch, the public interest group that investigates and prosecutes government corruption and abuse, said today that Navy Lieutenant Commander Jack Daly – who was partially blinded by a laser attack, fired at Daly from the Russian spy ship Kapitan Man in April, 1997, while Daly was on an official reconnaissance mission, flying over U.S. waters the Straits of Juan de Fuca, Puget Sound, WA. – will go to trial on October 7, 2002, against the Far East Shipping Company, the owners of the Kapitan Man.

Neither the Clinton nor the Bush administrations have done anything to help or pursue justice for LCDR Daly, who suffers chronic, acute eye pain and steadily deteriorating vision. LCDR Daly’s story has been reported in the best-selling book, “Betrayal,” by award-winning Washington Times columnist and author Bill Gertz, as well as by Dr. Michael J. Waller in an article published in Reader’s Digest. Despite LCDR Daly’s plight, for the last five years the U.S. government has pursued a course of diplomatic appeasement with the Russians, and looked the other way to their attack of a U.S. serviceman on American territory. In addition, it is believed that Russian espionage activities continue throughout the United States. Judicial Watch brought this action on behalf of LCDR Daly so that the parties and persons responsible for the laser attack are finally brought to justice.
