Bill Clinton, Democratic Fundraising Machine May Have Benefited From Alleged Chinese “Mata Hari” Judicial Watch Deposed Former FBI Agent Implicated in Spy Scandal (Washington, DC) Judicial Watch, the public interest group that investigates and prosecutes government corruption, reacted with outrage to recent revelations about the latest FBI/Chinese spy scandal. According to published reports, the scandal, involving the FBI’s mishandling of an alleged communist Chinese double agent, has called into question every counter-intelligence investigation of communist China since at least 1991, including the “investigation” into the Chinese communist government’s donations to American politicians such as President Bill Clinton. Judicial Watch client Johnny Chung, who was involved in that “Chinagate” scandal, went into hiding under FBI protection from Chinese hit squads after cooperating with the investigation into his donations to Clinton and the Democrats. His FBI “handler” was James J. Smith, the very same former FBI agent just arrested for gross negligence in his handling of his informant, alleged lover and accused Chinese spy Katrina Leung. (Chung also is represented by Brian Sun. Sun, who played the race card in the Wen Ho Lee case and considers himself the “Chinese equivalent of Johnnie Cochran,” has a flagrant conflict of interest, in that he now represents Smith, the very man who may have placed Chung in harm’s way.) Leung was having another alleged affair with another former FBI agent, William Cleveland, Jr. who retired from the FBI several years ago and had been running counter-intelligence at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. Cleveland was deposed by Judicial Watch in December, 2001. The deposition was taken in former Energy Department intelligence chief’s Notra Trulock’s defamation case against accused Chinese spy and admitted felon Wen Ho Lee. In his testimony, Cleveland responded guardedly to questions about the failed “Tiger Trap” counter-intelligence investigation, which turns out may have been compromised by Leung. “Tiger Trap” was the code name for an investigation, on which Cleveland worked, concerning a potential Chinese agent at Lawerence Livermore. Wen Ho Lee had been tied to the suspected “Tiger Trap” spy as well. “And we expect this FBI to protect us from terrorists! Heads should roll. Prosecutions of top FBI officials should must be considered and the FBI should be forced out the ‘spy game.’ When it comes to counter-intelligence, the FBI is overmatched, compromised and incompetent,” stated Judicial Watch Chairman and General Counsel Larry Klayman. | |
