“UNFIT FOR COMMAND” AUTHOR ENDORSES CALL FOR SENATOR KERRY TO SIGN RECORDS RELEASE FORM

Jerome R. Corsi, PhD Seeks Full Access to Kerry’s Naval Service Record Through Request by Watchdog

Expert on Anti-War Movement & Political Violence Wants Senator Kerry to Keep His Word

(Washington, DC)  Judicial Watch, the public interest group that investigates and prosecutes government corruption, announced today that Jerome R. Corsi, PhD, co-author with John E. O’Neil of the best-selling book “Unfit for Command,” has endorsed the watchdog group’s request for Senator John F. Kerry to keep his word to the American public and sign a Standard Form 180 (SF 180), “Request Pertaining to Military Records.”  On Sunday, January 30, 2005, during an appearance on the NBC News show “Meet the Press,” moderator Tim Russert asked Senator Kerry (three times) if he would sign an SF 180 and release all of his military records.  On the third attempt Senator Kerry answered Mr. Russert plainly stating, “Yes, I will.”

In a letter hand delivered to Senator Kerry’s office on Wednesday, February 2, 2005, Judicial Watch asked Senator Kerry to execute the SF 180 immediately and thereby put to rest the controversies surrounding his service as a U.S. Navy officer.

Judicial Watch requested release of Senator Kerry’s military service records under the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act (“FOIA”) in August 2004.  Navy Personnel Command withheld thirty-one (31) pages of documents because Senator Kerry refused to sign an SF 180 and release them to the public.

Jerome Corsi, who received his doctorate from Harvard University, is an expert in the Anti-War Movement and the use of political violence.  Dr. Corsi is responsible for uncovering much of the information concerning Sen. Kerry’s questionable awards for valor, and allegations concerning Senator Kerry’s conduct both on Active Duty and as an Inactive Naval Reserve officer.  Senator Kerry is the only person who can grant full access to all of his military records by signing an SF 180.  Dr. Corsi today endorses the request by Judicial Watch for Senator Kerry to keep his word to the American public.

“Obtaining all of the official Navy records is critical for documenting Senator Kerry’s conduct and his various claims and characterizations of his service.  I strongly support Judicial Watch’s efforts to obtain these records in the public interest and for holding Senator Kerry to his word,” stated Jerome Corsi.

“We welcome Dr. Corsi’s support and look forward to Senator Kerry living up to his promise to the American people,” stated Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton.
