Pelosi Demands Military Jet

Judicial Watch Files Freedom of Information Act Request

On Friday, February 9, Judicial Watch filed a Freedom of Information Act request with the Department of Defense concerning House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s request for a large U.S. Air Force Airplane to carry her back and forth between San Francisco, California to Washington, D.C.

Pelosi asked for full access to an Air Force commuter jet last week, requesting a 42-seat carrier craft with a private state room and crew of 16, but was turned down by the Pentagon.  Former House Speaker Dennis Hastert was allowed access to a 12-seat commuter jet for security reasons after the events of 9/11.

Judicial Watch asked for the following documents:

  • All communications from the office and/or staff (to include but not limited to Bernard Raimo) of U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi for access to, and use of United States Air Force aircraft.
  • All DoD communications to the office and/or staff of U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi for access to, and use of United States Air Force aircraft.
  • Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s request for use of U.S. Air Force aircraft.
