The United Nations (UN) is rife with corruption and incompetence as evidenced by the infamous "Oil for Food" scandal, a cash cow for Saddam Hussein masquerading as relief for the Iraqi people. Judicial Watch, through whistleblower Linda Shenwick, a former State Department official, also brought to light a number of other UN scandals during the Clinton administration. Despite this history of corruption, however, the United States government continues to support the UN both financially and publicly.
