As a result of our litigation, Judicial Watch has forced the government to change the way it conducts its business. Systemic change is perhaps the greatest fringe benefit of our litigation because these changes are meant to remedy and prevent the circumstances that allowed moral or ethical transgressions to occur in the first place.
For example, the previous White House e-mail archiving system known as ARMS was scrapped and replaced with a new system. This came after Judicial Watch uncovered an e-mailgate obstruction of justice scandal when, in the course of our investigations, we discovered that The White House illegally concealed e-mails from Congress, the Independent Counsel and Judicial Watch.
Judicial Watch also earned a victory for protestors who were abused on the steps of Anaheim City Hall on December 8, 2001.
v White House E-Mail – The White House was forced to implement a new system to archive e-mails as a result of Judicial Watch’s litigation in the Filegate scandal.
v Anaheim Police Procedures – Anaheim Police changed their procedures regarding the protection of protestors as a result of Judicial Watch’s litigation.
