Victories - Document Releases

Open government is honest government.  By forcing the government to release documents through the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Judicial Watch is able to subject the innerworkings of government to public scrutiny, thereby ensuring accountability. 

 

In cases where the government refuses to obey the law, stonewalls investigations, or fails to produce documents, Judicial Watch files a lawsuit against the offending agency to have the court compel the documents to be released.  Overall, Judicial Watch has filed more than 400 open records requests, leading to the release of hundreds of thousands of documents into the public domain.
