Dear Mr. McCarthy,
This letter response your, July 2016 Freedom Information Act request for the
follow records associated with former First Lady Michelle Obamas October 2016 trip North
Carolina: Any and all records concerning mission tasking, Any and all records concerning
transportation costs, and Any and all passenger manifests (DD-2131).
AF/A3 provided the attached email records connection with the mission tasking,
however certain information being withheld under Title United States Code, Section 552
(b)(6). Exemption (b)(6) applies the withholding information that could reasonably
expected constitute clearly unwarranted invasion personal privacy.
With respect the transportation costs the attached CVAM Completed Mission Report
for the trip North Carolina attached. Please note the cost these flights can determined multiplying the number hours flown the fiscal year cost per flying hour (CPFH). The
FY17 CPFH for the C-40C $5,312. CPFH includes fuel, flight consumables, aircraft overhaul,
and engine overhaul. This information can located at:
http://comptroller.defense.gov/Financial-Management/Reports/rates2017/ records response provided for the manifests (DD Form 2131) you requested.
accordance with Air Mobility Command Instruction (AMCI) 24-101, the Air Force does not
maintain copies passenger manifests for White House directed missions after the active
mission leg complete.
