Friday Dump: State Dept Poised to Release 2,800 Huma Abedin Docs Recovered From Weiner’s Laptop

When authorities subpoenaed a laptop belonging to disgraced former Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-NY), they were looking for evidence that he had sent sexually explicit photos to a minor.

In addition to what they were looking for, they found evidence that ultimately brought Weiner’s estranged wife, Huma Abedin, and her boss, Hillary Clinton, under closer scrutiny — and it was scrutiny that then-Democratic presidential nominee Clinton could little afford.

Conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch, led by president Tom Fitton, sued for the release of the documents under the Freedom of Information Act — and just over a year later, those documents are finally going to be released.
